HOTEL ITALIE ET SUISSE has an enviable position. It

Lake Maggiore.
Stresa is 35 km from the international airport of
Milan-Malpensa and is easily accessible through the
Sempione national road (s.s.33), the A26 motorway or the

Stresa you can visit the Borromee islands –
Isola Bella, Isola Pescatori and Isola Madre -, the
Zoological and Botanic Garden of Villa Pallavicino,
Mottarone with the Botanic Garden of Alpinia, the
latter can be reached by car or cableway (The cableway is
distant 1 km from the Hotel) and the Umbrella Musuem
at Gignese.
You can visit by car or by boat the city of Verbania
where you can go shopping and admire the Botanic Gardens
of Villa Taranto or visit the town of Arona with
the Fortress park and the statue of San Carlo Borromeo
and the Fortress of Angera.
You can reach the town of Ascona and Locarno
in Switzerland in less than an hour, and the Ossolane
Valleys towards Domodossola: Val Formazza
with the Toce Fall, Valle Vigezzo also called
Valle dei Pittori (Valley of the Painters) (with the small
Centovalli train), the National Park of Valgrande,
Valle Anzasca with Macugnaga at the foot of
Monte Rosa and finally Val Bognanco and Valle
Antigorio renowned for its mineral springs.
Public beaches at 200 meters from the hotel. Apart from lake
sports such as fishing, sailing, canoeing,
water skiing, you have tennis courts,
swimming pools in the immediate vicinity and
trekking paths, a wide manège at Fondotoce, pitch
and putt on the lakeside of Stresa and also 5 golf
courses – Golf Club des Iles Borromées, Golf Club Alpino of
Stresa, Golf Club Castelconturbia, Golf Club Bogogno, Golf
Club Premeno.
