Omegna is the main town on Lake Orta, and is a real blend of tradition and innovation, its many artistic and cultural attractions balancing the manufacturing activity which has made the town a centre of Italian kitchenware production.
Worth a visit are the Collegiate Church of S. Ambrogio and the church of San Gaudenzio. Omegna is the home town of the famous author of books for children Gianni Rodari, whose stories and poems inspired the intriguing Parco della Fantasia near the town centre.
