Villa Taranto and Villa San Remigio

Villa Taranto e Villa San Remigio

Verbania Pallanza is home to two of the finest villas on the whole of Lake Maggiore, Villa Taranto, with its superb botanic gardens, and Villa San Remigio.

The gardens of Villa Taranto, laid out by the Scottish captain Neil McEacharn in the 30s, feature over twenty thousand tree species planted in a setting of fountains, greenhouses and English- and Italian-style gardens. This is one of the most important botanic gardens in the world, full of colour and fragrance. There are always plants in bloom to enjoy from spring to autumn, for the delight of visitors to the garden. Villa San Remigio stands on the Castagnola hill, and from this panoramic position its terraces provide a marvellous view taking in Lake Maggiore and the crown of mountains surrounding it.
